In this text I shall present and discuss a piece never studied before: an eighteenth-century Italian medallion of a Christ effigy made in relief with coloured marble, contained by a gilt metal oval frame, that belongs to the Palácio Nacional da Ajuda (Lisbon) collections. I will try to clarify its date and Italian origin.
