During the decorative activity of the Ministry for Public Works, in the second half of the eighteenth century, several sculptures have been moved from the places where they were originally installed. Others, however, never got to find a final destination, having been incorporated in warehouses waiting for a permanent location. These works that throughout the nineteenth century, were scattered in gardens, parks, and other public places, would have been sufficient to create a collection of statuary sculpture.
