This article aims to study the unknown paintings that adorn the side altars of St. Francis church at Tomar, which came from the convent of Nossa Senhora da Soledade das Trinas do Mocambo, at Lisbon. The pictorial analysis of these panels suggest they were painted around 1730-40 by one of the followers of Bento Coelho da Silveira, because some of them reveal the inspiration in his paintings. However, the painter also reveals the new Italian-French influences, in particular of Simon Vouet, Chaperon and Maratti, demonstrating his evolution relatively to the seventeenth century artists.
