The aim of this article is to carry out a brief analysis of the Junta de Calificación, Valoración y Exportación de Bienes del Patrimonio Histórico Español, a professional consultative organism assigned to the General Administration of Fine Arts and Cultural Assets. This spanish organism performs significant duties concerning the management of historical heritage assets such as deciding whether is feasible or not to acquire certain heritage assets for museums and public collections, or examining those applications about protected movable assets intended to be exported from Spain. For it is a little-known body, it seems necessary to publish a complete and specific monograph about its origins and competences.
